This is the nucleus of this game. A Microsoft Excel spreadsheet I've been working on the last three years. It calculates from the values in the orange fields in the upper left a complete Star System with 10 Planets and all of their properties using real physical formulas and some predefined tables.
I’ve been poking around my very old Blitz3D sources (back to 2005) and found a little demo showing a simple planet earth turning around with nice music I never released.
This is a small test program how to control a lot of Asteroids and implement a Freelancer-like steering. The quad engine controls 25000 asteroid quads right now but it could handle even more at a decent FPS rate.
The real Milky Way contains between 200 and 400 billion stars. I’ve made a small tech demo where you can fly through a very, very small galaxy with only 100.000 stars.
